About The Project

G & S Flowers is a Victorian own and operate an online floral business, they offer a wide range of fresh quality and creative birthday flower bouquets, sympathy, new baby flower arrangement at competitive prices. They offer fast and same day delivery and 7-day delivery flowers to most of Melbourne’s suburbs.

Like many florists, Loi the owner of gsflowers.com.au spent more than 10 years working for local florists where he created many of handcraft weddings bouquets and styling funeral wreaths. During the pandemic Loi had lost his job and that how he started his own flower business.

G&S Flowers have contacted us, as he needed an ecommerce website which has features and functionality that allows user to express checkout with a delivery address validation. We built a foundation that revolved around G & S Flowers primary goals. This is how our business relationship began as an ecommerce website developer and solution provider.

The objective

Like many independent floral retailers face a challenging road with brick-and-mortar business model during the pandemic, G&S Flowers take a different business model to build an online store, reduce the setup cost and to generate cash flow, and build a resilient business model.

To achieve these goals, they need a good ecommerce store with the right web technology, high quality UX Designs, and relevant and accurate product descriptions and contents and to ensure that every functionality detail work perfectly on both PC and mobile device. A fast streamline and express checkout process is a must and fast in page response time and browsing user experience is vital to engage users from the moment they land to the product pages to final checkout process.

The challenges

With a new online floral store business to launch, G & S Flowers came to Silk Media Web Services with no previous experience in ecommerce store operation. The brief and explanation were focus and provided on each question and answer, from on how to collect product photos, choosing the name of bouquets, product description and setup the trading term and conditions and many more.

The nature of the above meant that we were creating essentially everything from scratch, including product photo designs, writing product descriptions, contents, and strategy.
